Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon will be making his return to the ice Thursday night against the Sharks, head coach Jared Bednar said on Altitude Sports Radio.
MacKinnon was ruled out of Tuesday’s win at Calgary after suffering an apparent hand injury sustained in a fight against Wild defenseman Matt Dumba on Sunday.
MacKinnon skated with skills coach Shawn Allard on Wednesday, a day off for the team, and appeared to move without issue.
On the season, he’s tallied 70 points (22 goals and 48 assists) in 51 games, helping the Avs to an NHL-leading 100 points in the standings this season.
