Two Avalanche players were assessed maximum allowable fines on Saturday from their actions in Friday’s 4-1 regular-season-ending loss at Minnesota.
Defenseman Kurtis MacDermid was fined $2,187.50 for kneeing the Wild’s Marcus Foligno and forward Logan O’Connor was docked $1,812.50 for cross-checking Dmitry Kulikov. Both are maximum allowable fines under the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
MacDermid was assessed a five-minute major for kneeing and game misconduct. O’Connor served a minor for cross-checking in addition to a fighting major after Minnesota’s Brandon Duhaime challenged him because of his hit on Kulikov.
