Avalanche defenseman Bo Byram stepped away for three months during the regular season to address lingering concussion issues.
Byram’s resilient comeback hit a new milestone on Tuesday night with his NHL playoff debut. Byram logged 16:16 of ice time with a plus-two rating in a Game 1 7-2 victory for Colorado over Nashville.
“It’s definitely a step up from the regular season,” Byram said on a Wednesday video call with reporters. “But I was excited for it and I was ready to go. Whenever you come out like that and get a jump on a team, it’s always nice.
