Avalanche welcome Jack Eichel’s debut for Vegas Golden Knights: “We know he’s a superstar in this league”

One of the NHL’s rising stars is set for his highly anticipated debut with a new team against the Avalanche.

The collective hockey world will have its eyes on Golden Knights center Jack Eichel on Wednesday night when Vegas hosts Colorado for a nationally televised game on TNT. Eichel — the No. 2 pick of the 2015 NHL draft and a three-time All-Star selection — has not played in 11 months since his well-documented split from the Sabres and neck surgery.

Eichel rose to prominence over six seasons in Buffalo with 355 points (139 goals) over 375 games played.
