The Avalanche signed NCAA free agent Wyatt Aamodt on Tuesday to a one-year contract for the 2022-23 season. The former Minnesota State standout will immediately report to the AHL’s Colorado Eagles on an amateur tryout contract.
Aamodt, 24, finished his senior season at Minnesota State in Saturday’s 5-1 loss to the University of Denver in the NCAA championship game in Boston. The 5-foot-10, 200-pound blueliner served as team captain and produced 12 points (six goals) and a team-high 56 blocked shots in 41 games.
Aamodt, from Hermantown, Minn., finished his four-year college career with 29 points (10 goals) in 123 games.
