All-star right winger Mikko Rantanen became the Avalanche’s only unsigned restricted free agent Thursday after the team announced it signed forward A.J. Greer to a modest one-year, two-way contract.
Greer, who was arrested July 7 on third-degree assault charges in New York, will make $735,000 in the NHL and $90,000 in the minor leagues, according to a team source.
Greer, 22, played just 15 games with the Avs last season, and only 37 over the last three. He was the second-leading scorer for the Colorado Eagles of the American Hockey League in 2018-19, with 44 points (19 goals) in 54 games.
