The Colorado Avalanche used the 94th overall selection of the 2017 NHL Draft on right wing Nick Henry of the Regina Pats (WHL). Listed at 5’11’, 190 pounds, Henry put up an impressive season on a powerhouse Pats team, registering 81 points (35g, 46a) in 72 games.
Henry fills a glaring need for the Avalanche in the prospect pool as they had a glaring need at wing and after using their first two selections of the draft on defensemen, a forward was in order.
The Black Book has this to say about Henry:
Henry has very good awareness of where his teammates are on the ice.
