With the 109th pick in the NHL Entry draft, the Colorado Avalanche picked forwards Tyler Weiss from the USNTDP U18 team. Weiss is slated to go to the University of Nebraska-Omaha next season.
The Raleigh North Carolina native was ranked as high as 59th by McKeen’s Scouting Service.
Though he looks like he’s 12-years old, Tyler Weiss has a tone of skill. At only 150lbs, Weiss is going to need a lot of time to grow, luckily, the NCAA is a great place to do that.
Selected 15th overall by Sarnia in the 2006 OHL Priority Selection draft, Weiss decided to move back to the US to develop as a part of a stacked National Development team.
