MONTREAL — Avalanche rookie defenseman Bo Byram is again unavailable with issues related to a previous head injury, coach Jared Bednar told The Denver Post before Thursday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre.
“It’s related to his head. He doesn’t have a concussion but he’s got some issues going on from his previous injury and he wasn’t doing great this morning. So he’s out,” Bednar said.
Byram, 20, suffered a concussion — at least his third of 2021 — on Nov. 11 against Vancouver. The Calder Trophy candidate as NHL rookie of the year missed the ensuing six games before returning Saturday against visiting Nashville, scoring a goal and logging 22 minutes of ice time in what Bednar considered a spectacular performance in the 6-2 win.
