Ice hockey has returned to Pepsi Center.
The Avalanche began Phase 2 of the NHL’s return to play plan with voluntary skates Monday. Among the players who participated were Ian Cole, Philipp Grubauer, Gabe Landeskog and Nathan MacKinnon, according to the team.
The league opened up Phase 2 to clubs June 8, which allowed teams to reopen its training facilities for players to engage in on- and off-the-ice individualized training activities. A maximum of six players are allowed together at one time. The Avs broke off into two groups Monday.
Phase 3 training camps are scheduled to kick off July 10.
