The Colorado Avalanche reassigned Duncan Siemens Monday to its AHL affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage, trimming the number of defensemen on its roster down to seven.
Siemens, 23, was drafted in the first round of the 2011 NHL entry draft with the 11th overall selection by the Avs. He spent the 2015-16 season playing in San Antonio, tallying one goal and six assists in 53 games.
The Avs are down to 26 players on their training camp roster — 17 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.
