Members of the 51-shot attack that wasn’t good enough to produce a victory in Game 3 had 48 hours to think about how to do things differently in Game 4.

Reaching 50 shots wasn’t the goal Monday for the Avalanche, but a fast start to quickly prove dominance was deemed imperative against the Arizona Coyotes at Rogers Place.

Colorado did just that, not allowing a shot-against through the first half of the opening period and drawing five of the first seven penalties. In the end, the Avs got goals from six players and limited Arizona to 15 shots in routing the Coyotes 7-1 to take a commanding 3-1 series lead at the Western Conference hub in Edmonton.
