Avalanche players and staff report for work during the bomb cyclone blizzard

The Avalanche had no problem reporting for work Wednesday during the bomb cyclone blizzard known as #SnowMageddon2019, and even star center Nathan MacKinnon participated in an optional practice while the majority of his teammates had off-ice workouts at Family Sports Center.

“Everything is kind of canceled so there’s not a lot of traffic,” said MacKinnon, who grew up in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, on Canada’s eastern seaboard. “I’m sure they’ll be some accidents, but coming in today I thought it would be a long drive in from where I live in Wash Park. But it was easy. I don’t think anybody is in school or working, so it’s good.
