Defenseman Tyson Barrie did not participate in on-ice drills Friday at training camp because of a lower-body injury he suffered during physical testing Thursday when veterans reported at the Pepsi Center.
Coach Jared Bednar said Barrie, 27, was held out for precautionary reasons and his injury is not considered serious.
“I haven’t talked to the medical guys yet today so I don’t know exactly,” Bednar said after the second of two sessions. “I just know he wasn’t going to skate this morning.”
Minus Burgundy/White. The Avs won’t offer their Burgundy/White intrasquad scrimmage this year because Bednar wants all players to get a fourth day of training camp with on-ice coaching.
