MONTREAL — Without the benefit of a power play and requiring just two saves by all-world goalie Carey Price, the Montreal Canadiens jumped to a 5-0 lead over the Avalanche on Saturday at the Bell Centre — JUST 8:41 INTO THE GAME.
Move aside, embarrassing. This was slow torture in a 10-1 beatdown by the Habs.
In a "Hockey Night in Canada" telecast in which former Colorado executive and coach Patrick Roy was likely watching — and laughing? — in his hometown Quebec providence, it got worse and worse for the Avalanche in perhaps the most pitiful period/game in franchise history.
