The Colorado Avalanche introduced their new head coach, Jared Bednar, to the local media today and the message throughout was one of positivity and optimism. The 44-year old Bednar, previously the coach of the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL, began by confirming the assistant coaches already under contract will be staying on board.
“I have had a chance to speak with the coaches,” Bednar said. “Last week and then during my drive over the last few days and I’ve had some great conversations with them. I feel very comfortable with our staff and I like the mix of some guys with a lot of experience in the league and the knowledge they have of the players as well as Nolan (Pratt) coming in here as a new coach and myself.
