Newly acquired Avalanche defenseman Josh Manson will make his home debut with the club on Monday, and it comes with a captivating storyline.
The rugged shutdown defenseman from the Anaheim Ducks will oppose his father, legendary defenseman Dave Manson, when Colorado hosts the Edmonton Oilers at Ball Arena. Dave Manson, who played in 1,103 NHL regular-season games over 16 seasons, was promoted from assistant coach for the Oilers’ AHL affiliate to Edmonton’s new staff on Feb. 10.
Josh Manson was out of the lineup with an oblique last month and did not play in the Ducks’ 7-3 loss at Edmonton on Feb.
