CASTLE ROCK — Before teeing off for charity Thursday morning, Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic was asked what it means to be 5-0 in the preseason under new coach Jared Bednar. Colorado, which defeated the Stars 1-0 in Dallas on Thursday night, is the NHL’s only preseason undefeated team and will conclude its exhibition slate Saturday against the Los Angeles Kings in Las Vegas.
“You like to win every game but it’s preseason. We’re not (celebrating),” Sakic said from The Ridge at Castle Pines North, where the team raised more than $90,000 for Kroenke Sports Charities. “We know we’re 5-0 and it’s great.
