Avalanche gets blasted at home by Bruins

The Avalanche hoped to take advantage of a season-opening, three-game homestand to build a bit of momentum before the schedule got ugly, with 17 of Colorado's next 24 on the road.

Uh, about that plan. ...

Never mind.

The Boston Bruins came in reeling at 0-3 after three embarrassing losses in the TD Garden, but blistered the Avalanche 6-2 on Wednesday night at the Pepsi Center and dropped Colorado to 1-2. The Avalanche was down 5-0 late in the second period before goals from Gabe Landeskog — already his fourth goal of the season — and John Mitchell made the final score misleading.
