Avalanche forward Joe Colborne: “Part of being a pro is putting that season behind you”

Judging from his self-induced bag skate after most players hit the showers Friday, Avalanche forward Joe Colborne is focused on having a much better season than 2016-17, when he had one goal in his final 61 games and Colorado finished with a league-low 48 points.

From inside the University of Denver locker room, Colborne — who was participating in the Pioneers’ annual pro camp this week — spoke about the disaster that was his first NHL season in Colorado and the hopes the Avs don’t again embarrass themselves.

“The only way you can take anything positive out of that was, it was a learning experience,” Colborne, a former DU standout, said of the team having the worst record in the league.
