Avalanche coach Jared Bednar blasted his team after another lackluster performance at home.
Dallas Stars goalie Anton Khudobin made 38 saves Friday night in a 2-1 victory at the Pepsi Center, where the Avs finished 0-2-1 on their three-game homestand after taking an NHL-best 8-1-1 record into it.
The Stars’ game-winning goal came during an Avalanche power play early in the second period.
“It’s simple for me: We weren’t mentally engaged in the game so our lack of focus and execution (was poor). It was terrible for the first half of the game,” Bednar said. “They have to decide and get themselves ready to play.
