BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Avalanche received goals from each of its four lines Saturday to defeat the Buffalo Sabres 5-3 at Key Bank Center to extend its road streaks to seven consecutive wins and nine straight points (8-0-1).
Fourth-line forward Alex Newhook scored at 8:37 of the third period for the game-winner, and winger Mikko Rantanen — who assisted on the goal — added an empty-netter as Colorado improved to 2-0 on its four-game trip.
The Avs also got goals from three other forwards — Nathan MacKinnon, J.T. Compher and Nazem Kadri — to improve to 36-9-4 and a league-high 78 points.
