Among the many indignities the Avalanche suffered in the season that ended with a 3-2 loss at St. Louis Sunday was that forward Matt Duchene and defenseman Tyson Barrie finished tied for the worst plus-minus in the league — at minus-34.
“Yeah, you obviously see it,” Barrie said. “It’s frustrating. If you look at the stats sheet, I think our whole team is in the 20s somewhere…We have to find ways to score goals. We have the lowest goals-for in the league this year, obviously by a large margin, the worst goals-for, goals-against ratio too, and that’s what we’re going to have to fix.
