OTTAWA — Alex Burrows, in his first game with the Ottawa Senators, scored twice Thursday in a 2-1 victory over the Avalanche at the Canadian Tire Centre.
Colorado, which got a third-period goal from Rene Bourque to avoid a second consecutive shutout loss, is now 0-2 on a three-game trip that concludes Saturday in Winnipeg.
Burrows, 35, was acquired by the Sens on Monday from the Vancouver Canucks. Burrows had just nine goals in 55 games with the Canucks but was the only Ottawa player to get the puck past Avalanche goalie Calvin Pickard, who had one of his better games of the season.
