Injured Avalanche winger Andre Burakovsky did not accompany the team on their charter flight to Tampa, Fla., after being injured in Saturday’s 7-0 Game 2 win over the Lightning.
“He’s actually getting evaluated (Sunday) and he’s going to join the team (Monday) in Tampa,” coach Jared Bednar said Sunday morning.
The Avalanche, which leads the Stanley Cup Final 2-0, faces the Lightning in Monday’s Game 3.
Burakovsky was injured 1:27 into the second period when he went to down to one knee in the neutral zone and blocked Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman’s passing attempt to winger Nikita Kucherov with his right hand or wrist.
