ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Avalanche, playing on consecutive nights and completing a rugged five-game road trip, seemingly used all its available energy Sunday night at the Xcel Energy Center.
Colorado got goals in all three situations — shorthanded, power play and even-strength — and fabulous goaltending from Pavel Francouz in a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild. In reaching 32 wins and 70 points, the Avs extended their winning streak to four games and finished 4-1 on the trip.
The Avs took a 3-2 lead into the third period, with each of the game’s five goals coming in the second period.
