The Avalanche are fresh off a 2-0 victory over the Red Wings on Sunday, and as Colorado continues its week-long road trip, here are five things to know heading into Tuesday’s battle at Pittsburgh.
Hottest team in hockey. With the shutout win in Detroit, the Avalanche (16-6-5, tied for first in Western Conference with Nashville) extended its point streak to 11 games, with a 9-0-2 record in that span. It’s the longest active points streak in the NHL and Colorado’s longest such run since a 12-game stretch in 2006-07.
Road trip? No problem. Only the Avalanche and the Maple Leafs have 10 road victories this season, and no other team has more than eight.
