The Avalanche Tuesday announced that assistant coaches Tim Army, Dave Farrish and Francois Allaire won’t return to Jared Bednar‘s staff next season.
All three were holdovers from Patrick Roy‘s staff, inherited by Bednar in the wake of Roy’s surprise resignation last August.
Coaches remaining are Nolan Pratt, who had been hired last summer before Roy’s departure, but had wored with Bednar in the American Hockey League; and video coorinator Brett Hemlich.
The Avalanche said general manager Joe Sakic would comment on the changes after replacements are hired.
The changes aren’t shocking in the wake of the Avalanche’s league-worst — by far — 22-56-4 record in 2016-17.
