The Avs acquired goalie Antoine Bibeau from the San Jose Sharks for minor-league defenseman Nicolas Meloche on Friday.
Bibeau, 6-foot-3 and 2017 pounds, will report to the American Hockey League’s Colorado Eagles and compete for playing time with Adam Werner and Hunter Miska.
Bibeau, 25, played for the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda last season, posting a .904 save percentage and 2.89 goals-against average. He was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the sixth round of the 2013 draft and his only two NHL appearances came with the Leafs in the 2016-17 season.
