Not long after sending Alex Tanguay and junior prospects to the Arizona Coyotes for speedy forward Mikkel Boedker, Joe Sakic pulled off another deadline deal -- trading a 2017 3rd Round selection for 6'4" defenseman Eric Gelinas. The 24-year old was a 54th overall selection for New Jersey Devils in 2009, playing in 156 games over four seasons on the big club. Gelinas played his junior hockey for Quebec League's Lewiston Maineiacs, no doubt garnering the attention of his new coach Patrick Roy during his time behind the Remparts bench.
