Avalanche (5-0-1) moves into south Florida for games against the Panthers, Lightning

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Riding a six-game points streak to begin the season, the Avalanche hopes to bounce back from a 3-2 overtime loss Wednesday at Pittsburgh.

The Avs (5-0-1), who traveled here Thursday, face the Florida Panthers Friday night to begin a consecutive-night stretch in south Florida. They visit the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday before heading west and stopping in St. Louis for a Monday matchup against the defending Stanley Cup-champion Blues.

Coach Jared Bednar said he’ll likely play both his goalies in Florida and he expects their teammates in front of them to play better.
