Shortly after Calgary star forward Johnny Gaudreau scored to beat the Avalanche in overtime, 3-2, late Saturday night to complete a comeback at the Pepsi Center, Avs players met to discuss the meltdown. And then the players met with the coaches.
The consensus: Get back to work and put the loss behind them. The Avs were outshot 31-9 after taking a 2-0 lead into the second period.
So the team practiced Sunday in good spirits. No bag skate. No mid-drill meetings. No dodging the media.
“The players had a chat yesterday after the game and I know some of the things that were said,” Avs coach Jared Bednar said after Sunday’s practice.
