Aaron Schneekloth is the new head coach of the Avalanche AHL affiliate Colorado Eagles, succeeding Greg Cronin, the organization announced Thursday.
Schneekloth has been on the Eagles’ coaching staff for 10 years, including a stint as head coach when the team played in the East Coast Hockey League. He led the Eagles to ECHL Kelly Cup championships in 2017 and 2018, before the minor league affiliate transitioned to the AHL as the league’s 31st team.
Schneekloth was retained as an assistant coach in 2018-19 following the move, while Cronin was hired as head coach. Cronin led the Eagles to a 164-104 record in a five-year tenure that catapulted him to the Anaheim Ducks head coaching job this offseason.
