Malcolm Williams had the game of his life Saturday night in Monroe, La.
And it was done for another life. One that was lost.
Williams caught nine passes for a CCU single-game record 266 yards and two touchdowns in a 51-43 loss to Louisiana-Monroe. The receiving yards are the second most in the history of the Sun Belt Conference, and an 86-yard touchdown catch is the second longest in CCU history.
What made the performance so much more special than just the athletic feat and statistics was that it happened in front of 125 supporters of Williams who traveled about 100 miles from his hometown of Shreveport, La.
