Former Coastal Carolina receiver signed by the Cleveland Browns

Matt Hazel’s on again, off again season is back on.

The former Coastal Carolina wide receiver was signed this week by the Cleveland Browns off the Indianapolis Colts practice squad and is eligible to be active for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, though he is nursing a hamstring injury.

Hazel has been limited at practice on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday due to the injury, according to the injury report the Browns submitted to the NFL, and his status is listed as “questionable” for Sunday’s game.

Hazel, a 25-year-old from North Augusta who is CCU’s all-time leader in career receptions with 183, has taken the spot of receiver Bryce Treggs, who was waived Wednesday in a corresponding move.
