Coastal Carolina jumps on South Carolina early in men’s soccer

Coastal Carolina used a pair of goals in the opening 21 minutes to defeat South Carolina 2-0 in men’s soccer Saturday night at Eugene E. Stone Stadium in Columbia.

The Chanticleers received a goal from Konstantinos Louvaris with an assist from Frantzdy Pierrot in the 12th minute, and a USC defender knocked the ball into his own goal in the 21st minute for a two-goal lead.

These two teams have now met 13 times on the pitch with the Chanticleers owning a 9-3-1 advantage, including wins in the last two meetings. CCU moves to 4-5 on the season while USC falls to 4-6-1.
