Coastal Carolina made a bid to end its program-record losing streak at the most unlikeliest of places Saturday.
The Chanticleers led reigning Sun Belt Conference co-champion Appalachian State at halftime at Kidd Brewer Stadium, but they were overpowered in the second half and dropped their sixth consecutive game, 37-29.
“This is probably one of the proudest moments I’ve had as a coach,” CCU interim head coach Jamey Chadwell said. “It was a loss, but this is the first time all year we’ve played for each other. We played with an emotion, we competed and we stayed involved in the game all four quarters.
