The Coastal Carolina football program will renew its rivalry with Liberty in coming seasons.
The Chanticleers and Flames – once archrivals in the Big South Conference as members of the Football Championship Subdivision – will play a home-and-home series in 2023 and 2024, according to a release from the Coastal Carolina athletic department.
Coastal will host Liberty on Sept. 9, 2023 at Brooks Stadium, before heading to Lynchburg, Virginia to take on the Flames on Aug. 31, 2024.
The programs often were contenders for the Big South title – or played each other for it – and have a 7-7 overall head-to-head record over the years.
