Coastal Carolina made a bid to end its program-record losing streak at the most unlikeliest of places Saturday.

The Chanticleers led reigning Sun Belt Conference co-champion Appalachian State at halftime at Kidd Brewer Stadium, but they were overpowered in the second half and lost their sixth consecutive game, 37-29.

Senior quarterback Tyler Keane played the entire game and completed 17 of 29 passes for 332 yards and two touchdowns in the loss, while sophomore Ky’Jon Tyler had five receptions for 141 yards and a TD. Taylor Lamb threw for a career-high 427 yards for the Mountaineers.

The Chants (1-6) fell to 0-4 in the Sun Belt, while Appalachian State (5-2) remained tied for the conference lead at 4-0.
