The Indians lost to the White Sox, but there were many good things that happened. First and foremost of those things was Michael Brantley’s pinch-hit appearance in the fifth inning. Brantley hadn’t batted in a game (major-league or minor-league) since early August, but you wouldn’t know it; he fouled off pitch after pitch before lining a single down the right field line. The hit would later lead to the Indians’ only run of the game.
