With regular season baseball underway, it’s almost time for the minor league season to begin. Opening Day for minor league baseball is Thursday, April 5.
The Indians have four full-season teams, the Triple-A Columbus Clippers, the Double-A Akron RubberDucks, the High-A Lynchburg Hillcats, and the Single-A Lake County Captains.
Todd Paquette had the scoop on the rosters for each level, and I’ll offer my take on where the Indians’ best prospects will begin their 2018 seasons.
RHP Julian Merryweather will miss the 2018 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Relievers RHP Cameron Hill (forearm) and RHP Josh Martin (back) also will begin the season on the disabled list, as will infielder Eric Stamets (back) and veteran back-up catcher Jack Murphy.
