Nobody was surprised to see that Bradley Zimmer had wheels — the lanky center fielder had high marks on his speed throughout the minors. The difference is, most scouting reports had him with above-average speed, but when put in the majors, and when measured by advanced statistics and Statcast, Bradley Zimmer emerged as one of the fastest players in baseball.

Zimmer’s rookie season started about as well as anyone could realistically expect. In the month following his May 16 debut, Zimmer slashed .261/.346/.493 with four home runs and four stolen bases for the Cleveland Indians.
