It was clear the moment Yan Gomes went down against the Minnesota Twins yesterday that something was wrong with his shoulder.
Now the Cleveland Indians have confirmed that Gomes has an AC joint separation and he is expected to miss 4-8 weeks while he recovers.
The good news for Gomes is that surgery does not look necessary at this time, but he will miss a good portion of the Indians push for the playoffs. At best, based on current estimates, he could return by mid-August and at worst he will be back in September.
