Cleveland Guardians backup catcher Wilson Ramos has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and sprained MCL suffered during yesterday’s win over the Boston Red Sox.
The team has not announced a timetable for surgery or a return yet, but with the season over in a little over a month, Ramos is clearly not returning in 2021. His time in Cleveland may be over as well, seeing as his contract only runs through the end of the year.
Cleveland grabbed Ramos off waivers on Aug. 6 after it was revealed that Roberto Pérez would be headed to the 10-day injured list with a shoulder injury.
