Everyone has been throwing left-handed pitching against the Indians, generally with good results. The Twins tried calling up Nik Turley, whose main qualification is that he is a southpaw, to start last night’s game. The Tribe killed one rally themselves with small ball by having Lonnie Chisenhall attempt to bunt (and fail) to move the runners for the Ghost of Austin Jackson, who promptly grounded into a double play. Afterwards. the Indians stopped playing small ball and began to pound the unknown lefty like the replacement-level player he is.
Minnesota will sacrifice two more left-handed pitchers to the baseball gods today.
