CLEVELAND -- What began as "intestinal turmoil" for Leonys Martin may have become a more serious ailment than the Indians initially thought.
The term, coined by manager Terry Francona, was used to describe why the newly acquired outfielder was out of the lineup Wednesday. The club announced Thursday morning -- before the Tribe's series finale with the Twins -- that Martin was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a "non-baseball condition." To accommodate the 25-man roster, outfielder Greg Allen was recalled from Triple-A Columbus.
