CLEVELAND: The Indians’ starting rotation made some history this past week, and it was started by an unlikely culprit.
Cody Anderson, making his second major-league start Monday night against Tampa Bay, took a perfect game into the eighth inning until former Indians outfielder Grady Sizemore took him deep for a solo home run. Danny Salazar followed that up with five perfect innings of his own to start Tuesday’s game. And not to be outdone, Carlos Carrasco was perfect through 6u2153 innings and came within one strike of a no-hitter on Wednesday.
All three were Indians wins, and all three featured a perfect game after five complete innings.
