Tribe adds Oliver Perez to bullpen mix

CLEVELAND -- The Indians signed free agent left-hander Oliver Perez to a Major League contract on Saturday and designated lefty Jeff Beliveau for assignment.

Perez, 36, has spent the 2018 season to date pitching for the Yankees Triple-A affiliate in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, posting a mark of 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA in 16 relief outings. Over his last nine appearances with the RailRiders he posted an ERA of 1.17. He spent the exhibition season with Cincinnati after signing on Feb. 25 and signed with the Yankees on March 30 following his release by the Reds.
