CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The World Series ended early Monday morning at Citi Field, but the business of baseball never really stops.
Utility man Mike Aviles and right-handers Ryan Webb and Gavin Floyd of the Indians were among the 139 players who filed for free agency Monday afternoon on the first day of eligibility. The Indians can negotiate with them exclusively until Saturday when they can sign with other teams.
The Indians hold a $3 million club option on outfielder Ryan Raburn. They have three days after the last game of the World Series to make a decision on the option.
