Opening day wasn’t exactly a thing of beauty from an offensive perspective for the Indians, as the team didn’t score a run, putting up two hits and a walk in an eventual 2-0 loss to the Twins at Target Field.
The team was dominated by Twins starter Jose Berrios, and then Tyler Mays came in and wrapped it up, never allowing the Indians a shot to get a runner across the plate.
The one good chance for the Indians came in the fourth when Leonys Martin started the frame with a double, but then Jose Ramirez, Tyler Naquin and Hanley Ramirez failed to get him home, ending the Tribe’s best shot.
